Why electricians lose work without realising

The customer Googling “NICEIC electrician near me” at 9pm is comparing four sparkies on review responsiveness as much as star count. A profile that hasn’t replied to anything in six months looks like a one-man band who’s either too busy or doesn’t care. The bloke with twelve reviews and a reply on each gets the call.

Most electricians we speak to know reviews matter but never sit down to write replies. Half don’t know what to say without sounding either defensive or stiff. The other half open the laptop, see three reviews waiting, and shut it again.

Drafts know not to admit fault on regs work — if a customer says you signed off something a follow-up inspector flagged, the draft acknowledges their experience without conceding the original sign-off. They never promise refunds, never reference NICEIC complaints procedures, and don’t make claims about other electricians’ work.

And the tone matches you. If you reply short and dry, Ollie writes short and dry. No corporate “we appreciate your valued feedback” rubbish.
