Google review tool for UK cafés.
Footfall’s built on Google. A 2-star at 10am sits unanswered all day while you’re running the espresso machine. Ollie drafts the reply, you approve between the next two flat whites.
Why café reviews matter more than restaurants
Cafés get a particular type of review the rest of hospitality doesn’t: judgment on atmosphere. Too loud, too quiet, the music, the wifi, the laptop policy. Replies need to own the place’s personality without apologising for it.
What Ollie writes for cafés
Drafts hold the vibe. They acknowledge slow service without admitting understaffing, defend the wifi policy without being snotty about it, and thank glowing reviewers in a way that sounds like the café — not corporate.
Examples Ollie handles for cafés
Slow service complaint, two stars
"Waited 18 minutes for two flat whites on a Tuesday afternoon. One barista on, the queue built up, no apology when we finally got them."
Hi Anna, 18 minutes for two coffees mid-afternoon is too long, and you should have had a heads-up when the queue built up. Solo shifts happen on Tuesdays but they shouldn’t leave anyone feeling forgotten. Come back any time this week and the next round’s on us — just mention this review at the till.
Glowing flat white review, five stars
"Best flat white in town, hands down. The team know their beans and the pastries are made on-site. Become a Saturday morning regular."
Cheers Liam, that’s exactly the start to a Saturday we’re after. The team will be made up to read this — they take the espresso side properly seriously. See you next week.
Atmosphere complaint about laptops, three stars
"Lovely coffee but every single seat had someone with a laptop and a single coffee for two hours. Felt impossible to actually sit and chat."
Hi Beth, totally fair — Tuesdays in particular have become a bit work-from-café-heavy and that does change the vibe. Weekends and after 3pm are when the place feels more relaxed and chatty if that helps for next time. Either way, glad the coffee landed.
